Cornish Cross Broiler Day Old Chicks – Optional Marek’s and Cocci Vaccinations – Ship Separate

ORDERING DETAILS: The Cornish Cross Broiler Day Old Chicks – Optional Marek’s and Cocci Vaccinations – Ship Separate have a minimum of 25 total. You can mix/match gender options (male, female, and SR), but a 5 per breed/gender minimum applies. FWBRs are not able to be picked up as they are sent from our hatching partner. If you are looking for a reduced minimum or pickup orders, please order the WBRs. Meyer Hatchery is able to ship the FWBR to the continental United States and Alaska only and ship weekly Monday thru Wednesday.

Cornish Cross Broilers are able to be vaccinated to aid in the prevention of CoccidiosisThis vaccine is in the form of a spray that is applied to the chicks the day they hatch. The spray does contain a dye, so chicks may arrive with a slight coloring. This will fade away as they mature and feather out. It is very important to remember chicks vaccinated for Coccidiosis should not be fed medicated chick starter or given any coccidiostat (Amprolium). This will negate the vaccine. Once the birds are added to the cart, a side bar will open for you to vaccinate, if desired.

If you are looking for a fast-growing meat bird, our Jumbo White Cornish Cross Broilers should be your first choice. Also known as Cornish X, Cornish Cross, Cornish Rock Cross, Jumbo Broilers, Cornish Game Hens, or White Broilers, these meat chickens will be ready for processing in just 7 to 8 short weeks. You can also process any gender at 2 lbs or 4 weeks for a tasty Cornish Game Hen. Meyer Hatchery’s first-generation stock have been selected for fast feathering, steady growth, optimal feed conversion ratios, and broad breasts. Meyer Hatchery’s Cornish Cross are typically of the Ross 308 and Cobb 500 strain. Both strains have yellow legs, skin, and feathers (the Cobb may have black flecks). Other strains may be substituted or added to meet consumer demand as needed. Read more information about our Cornish Cross strains.

Cornish Cross are a special hybrid that we have fine-tuned over many generations specifically for fast growth rates for meat production. Because they are a hybrid, you cannot cross a male and female Cornish Cross and hatch out more Cornish Cross. Additionally, for their own health and well-being, Cornish Cross should not be kept beyond their processing age of 6-9 weeks.
